Ο Φλιντ Λόκγουντ είναι ένας φιλόδοξος εφευρέτης, όμως όλες του οι δημιουργίες μόνο προβλήματα φέρνουν στη μικρή του πόλη. Κι όμως ο Φλιντ είναι αποφασισμένος να σχεδιάσει κάτι που θα κάνει τους ανθρώπους ευτυχισμένους. Όταν το τελευταίο του κατασκεύασμα, μια μηχανή που μετατρέπει το νερό σε φαγητό, καταστρέφει κατά λάθος την πλατεία της πόλης και εκτοξεύεται στα σύννεφα, ο Φλιντ θεωρεί ότι η καριέρα του έχει τελειώσει. Μέχρι που κάτι απίστευτο συμβαίνει: ο ουρανός αρχίζει να βρέχει τσίζμπεργκερ! Η μηχανή του τελικά δουλεύει! Ο γαστρονομικός καιρός γνωρίζει αυτόματα τεράστια επιτυχία και το όνειρο του Φλιντ γίνεται πραγματικότητα. Μέχρι που η μηχανή αρχίζει να συμπεριφέρεται αλλοπρόσαλλα, εκτοξεύοντας μακαρονάδες-ανεμοστρόβιλους και γιγάντιους κεφτέδες. Τώρα ο Φλιντ θα πρέπει να συνεργαστεί με τη νεαρή μετεωρολόγο Σαμ Σπαρκς για να σταματήσουν τη μηχανή και να σώσουν τον κόσμο από τα απειλητικά καιρικά φαινόμενα φαγητού.

The Alphabet Killer (2008)

The Alphabet Killer is based on the double initial killings in Rochester, New York in the early 1970s. Eliza Dusku stars as Megan Paige, a police officer who is highly committed to the job. She develops schizophrenia, lasting for more than six months, and includes one month of active symptoms such as illusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, and grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior. Megan's obsession leads her to a breakdown and a violent episode which lands her in the hospital. She eventually loses her fiance, Kenneth (Cary), and her job. Two years later Megan is back working as an advisor, but her more or less normal life goes to hell again when another murder is called in. Her fire rekindled, Megan sets out to find the killer, and this time she plans to get the job done, with or without the department's assistance.

Scarlet's Witch (2009)
"Scarlet's Witch" is short of a Brothers Grimm tale about a young girl named Scarlet. She is a lonely girl, with no friends. She wants a friend more than anything, even if it means finding them in the woods, where someone else that is lonely smiles and waits for a friend.
I won't say more to spoil the plotline of this modern cautionary tale for those who might wish to see it. I highly recommend this movie, as well as his other YouTube indie short films. They're all the more amazing when you realize that Fred Rabbath works with no budget, one camera, one microphone, and puts all his movies together on his home computer. The results are surprisingly professional, given the limitations Rabbath Productions is under.
He builds an incredible sense of menace visually around the woods, which almost becomes a character in its own right. From the very first shot of a lonely road rolling behind a car, surrounded by these woods, the whole tone of the movie is set. The lush wood shots are thick and heavy, almost suffocating. One scene I particularly like is a shot of this ancient-looking, huge gnarled oak that seems almost to have arms instead of branches, seeming to draw unsuspecting people into the danger that lies within the woods.

The Window
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should he have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything?

It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence ----- deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away -- no works, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after make sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

So..Not being able to understand, the man asked the nurse:
Man: " The man who was sitting here, described an amazing scenery-"
Nurse : "No, it can't be!"
Man: "Why?"
Nurse: " He was blind..."

Mankind is no Island - Tropfest NY 2008 winner

Τρεις καλλιτέχνες, ο Jason van Genderen (σκηνοθέτης), ο Shane Emmett (παραγωγός) και ο John Roy (μουσικός) συνέθεσαν ένα εντυπωσιακό φιλμάκι μικρού μήκους με λήψεις από την κάμερα ενός κινητού τηλεφώνου, τις οποίες συνέρραψαν για να δημιουργηθεί κείμενο μέσα από τις εικόνες.

Η ταινία κέρδισε το πρώτο βραβείο στο φεστιβάλ Tropfest NY 2008 (ένα από τα σημαντικότερα φεστιβάλ ταινιών μικρού μήκους στον κόσμο). Κόστισε μόλις 57 δολάρια και αναφέρεται στους άστεγους όλου του κόσμου.
